Glenbard South art show presents work

Allyson Glahe, Writer

Glenbard South hosted its annual art show on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the library. Drawings, pictures and paintings were displayed on the walls while 3D artwork, such as pottery and sculptures, were displayed in cases.

The Glenbard South art department arranges an annual art show that showcases artwork from all the different art classes offered. During the week prior to the art show, the art department worked tirelessly to display all of the artwork. After the art has been displayed, professional judges come in and critique the art. Some of the awards the judges give out include first, second and third place, best in show and honorable mention.

During the art show, friends and family were invited to browse the displayed artwork. Some of the winning artists talked about the inspiration and meaning behind their pieces.

Altogether, the Glenbard South art show was an end of the year treat for friends and family and a great way for artists to get feedback from professional art critics.
