Brooklyn Moore is a talented, multi-sport athlete who plays volleyball, basketball and soccer. Moore is not only an exemplary athlete but also talented in the classroom. While being involved with many different sports and clubs, Moore brings a positive attitude to everything that she does which can be seen in her behavior in the classroom and on the court. Her classmate, Aaron Saboriendo, stated “She always lightens up the classroom with her humor, and her intelligence always blows me away.”
Moore is a highly skilled athlete when it comes to any of the three sports she plays. For basketball in particular, she averages around 10-15 points a game and always blows the crowd away with her skills inside of the paint. Moore has achieved many huge accomplishments when it comes to basketball. On December 5th during a matchup versus South Elgin, Moore achieved a career 1000 points. Quickly into the new year, Moore reached 1000 rebounds. These are huge accomplishments for an athlete and require a considerable amount of dedication and hard work.
Moore describes her team and achieving these accomplishments by saying “I was never expecting to reach 1000 points or 1000 rebounds. I felt that as a post that never really went outside the paint and did not look for threes, it was something that was never expected, or even a goal I had in mind.” She continued reflecting on the season with “my favorite memory was really all the team dinners I had throughout my four years. I just got to become friends with such amazing people and enjoy some moments with my teammates outside of basketball.”
Moore is not only loved by others in the classroom but also loved by her teammates. Her teammate Rheayanna Ferguson describes having Moore as a teammate for the last 3 years. Ferguson shared “Brooklyn is a hard-working player who puts in her best effort for not only herself, but for her team every day. She keeps the team uplifted even when she is struggling herself, which just again shows her selflessness. While being a beast, an amazing player and teammate on the court, off the court she is just as dope.”
Moore has shown herself as a force to be dealt with on the court by receiving an All-Conference award for the Upstate 8 this basketball season. Moore has proved to others how a person can accomplish anything while having a positive attitude. Moore’s authenticity and compassion combined with her athletic abilities make her an all-around standout player.
