Lorenza Foster-Simbulan qualified for the IHSA State Tournament after delivering an excellent singles performance at Sectionals.

When asked about the best part of attending the girls state tennis tournament, junior Lorenza Foster-Simbulan said that she was, “excited to represent Glenbard South as a seeded player for the first time.”

The annual state finals tennis tournament for the Illinois High School Association took place between Thursday, October 20 and Saturday, October 22. The tournament was hosted by Buffalo Grove High School and the surrounding area courts.

Glenbard South junior Lorenza Foster-Simbulan managed to qualify for the state tournament, and represented her school as a singles finalist.

Foster-Simbulan faced off against opponents for five consecutive rounds, and was placed twelfth overall in the tournament. Foster-Simbulan’s play was elevated even beyond her talent and work ethic, by the encouragement of her fellow teammates at Glenbard South.
