Glenbard South Super Fans

Michelle Marecki, Sports Writer

Do you ever wonder what it is like to be a super fan? To be supporting every Raider sport with your fellow peers each week? Through the wins and losses, seniors Lauren Atkinson and Louie Esposito have shown their school spirit at every sports’ event each week ranging from boys football to girls volleyball. For anyone unfamiliar with the name “super fans”, they are equivalent to the “captains” of pep club. They are the ones that create a lot of attention around Raider athletics and bring people together to enjoy the multitude of sporting events at South.

So many wonderful memories are created with high school students going to sports games. When asked, Atkinson said that her favorite memory of this year, “has to be the white out game at Glenbard East, the confetti poppers looked so cool and the crowd was super energetic that night.”

As for Esposito, his favorite memory would have to be  the homecoming game, because he just had a lot of fun with everyone.

With several different interesting factors occurring throughout these games from buzzer beaters, to the student section’s cheers, to good concession stand food, there are so many different things that make a game special.
