The cast of the hit Netflix Original “Stranger Things” is moving on after the show’s final season debuted in December. All six main cast members are heading in different directions after 10 years of filming for the show, since 2015 all the way through 2025.
Millie Bonnie Bongovi:
Millie Bongiovi played Eleven, the main character in Netflix’s “Stranger Things.” The 21 year-old actress focuses primarily on her acting career while simultaneously running her beauty brand, Florence by Mills. She stars as detective Enola Holmes in the upcoming film Enola Holmes 3 that is set to be released Summer 2026. Bongiovi also executive produces and stars as ghost-hunter Cassie Brown in a new Netflix show called Prism. There has been no official release date announced at this time. She and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, adopted a baby girl in August 2025 and have spoken about how much joy she brings them, and how meaningful it is to them to have a family.
Finn Wolfhard:
Finn Wolfhard played Mike Wheeler in “Stranger Things.” The 23 year-old actor is exploring music, directing and diverse acting roles post-series. He plans on making new songs with his band, The Aubreys. Additionally, he continues to act. He has enjoyed hosting on “Saturday Night Live” and plans to be involved in the “IT” franchise. He has also briefly mentioned plans of continuing to direct movies, but none are confirmed as of late. Overall, he has spoken about how he wishes to focus on expanding his band and his plans to release another album in 2026.
Gaten Matarazzo:
Gaten Matarazzo played the character of Dustin Henderson, The 23 year-old actor hopes to continue acting while taking on a wider range of roles, and has expressed gratitude for the opportunities “Stranger Things” has given him. Matarazzo hopes to take on more theater roles, and expressed his interest in performing plays in the future. Overall, he has expressed his sadness about leaving his “Stranger Things” family, but he is excited about branching out into new genres of acting. No new roles have been confirmed as of now.
Caleb McLaughlin:
Caleb McLaughlin played the character of Lucas Sinclair in “Stranger Things”. The 24-year-old is stepping into voice acting with a role in the animated movie “GOAT,” which will be released in February 2026. The film follows the story of an athlete named Will Harris who hoped to compete in professional-level athletics, and his struggle to do so. McLaughlin is also planning to release new songs in the future. He has expressed his desire to recenter his focus on his personal life, and how he will be stepping away from social media for an undisclosed period of time. He will focus on his goals, but plans to continue acting in future roles.
Noah Schnapp:
Noah Schnapp played the role of Will Byers. He has talked about his interest in business, and is getting his degree in entrepreneurship and innovation from the University of Pennsylvania. He will graduate in May 2026 at age 21. Schnapp wants to expand his business ventures, and he spoke about how getting an education will help him achieve his goals. Along with his education, he wishes to continue acting in a variety of roles, but no new roles have been publicly announced yet.
Sadie Sink:
Last but not least, Sadie Sink played Max Mayfield in “Stranger Things.” The 23 year-old actress is taking part in major new films such as “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, where she will play an undisclosed role. This highly anticipated film will be released in July 2026. Sink will also play Juliet in Shakepseare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” which will make its debut at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London in March 2026. There is also speculation of her being featured in the upcoming “Avengers” films, but no official announcement has been made.
The cast of “Stranger Things” has grown up. Now that the hit series has ended, they are all heading in their own directions. Some have pursued higher education while others have turned to music or continued acting. They are branching out from the “Stranger Things” universe and continuing to expand their careers. Although they have wrapped filming “Stranger Things” and taken on new roles, they report staying in touch and remain close friends.
