The spring season is just around the corner, Raiders! Baseball, girls soccer, and track & field are a few of the many sports starting in the upcoming months. If one is interested in being a part of a team or trying out a new sport, in warmer weather, the spring season sports are right for them. The Glenbard South spring sports include, boys and girls track & field, badminton, softball, girls soccer, baseball, boys volleyball, boys gymnastics and boys tennis. All tryout information and sport descriptions are listed below.

Track & Field: The indoor girls and boys track & field season recently started on January 18th, but will be moved outdoors come April. Track and field includes anything from the 100 meter sprint to high jump to 400 meter relay to participate in. It is also a great way to stay in shape in the off season of other sports. Badminton: A little “birdie” told me, the Glenbard South badminton season is back! If you’re looking to show off your skills or try badminton for the first time, you should consider attending tryouts on February 28th at 3:00 pm. If you have any questions email Coach Roy ([email protected]).

Softball: The softball season is finally here! Softball is a great way to get involved in a competitive environment all while making unforgettable memories with the team. Have you been waiting all school year to play softball? If so you should attend tryouts starting at 6:00 pm on February 28th. Girls Soccer: The girls soccer season is kicking off this February! The soccer program is a tight knit community like no other. If one is looking to improve their footwork and take part in competitive games, then soccer is the sport for them! Come out to tryouts on February 28th, starting at 4:30 pm. Baseball: Whether one is a pitcher, catcher, or prefer the outfield, they should join the Glenbard South baseball team! The season includes lots of exciting competition and nail-biting games. Meeting new friends and improving your play are all a part of the experience. Tryouts will be held on February 28th, starting at 3:00 pm. Boys Volleyball: Pass, set, spike! Boys volleyball is back for another season starting in the spring. Varsity head coach Grant says he is looking forward to the upcoming season and hopes to see a few new faces at tryouts. If one is interested in contributing to the team and playing hard to represent Glenbard South, tryouts begin at 3:00 pm on March 7th. Boys Tennis: Looking for a sport that lets you play on your own and with a teammate? Well look no further, the Glenbard South boys tennis season will be starting in February! February is coming up soon and you do not want to miss out on joining the team. There are lots of matches in store for the tennis season this year, and lots of opportunities to grow as a player. Boys Gymnastics: Raider boys gymnastics season is almost here! Whether one is trying out for the first time or a returning member of the team, they will be given the opportunity to showcase what they can do! The gymnastics program teaches one how to work well with a team as well as improving individual skills. From working hard in practices to competing against other schools in games, there is no better way to represent Glenbard South than through your sport. If any of the spring season sports seem interesting , make sure to mark the calendar and save the date for the sport’s tryout. Go Raiders!
