On Saturday April 10th freshman Matilda McLaren, sophomores Felicity Abbott and Zainab Talha, junior Maya Page, and senior Olivia Kempfe participated in the IHSA’s virtual journalism competition. At 9:30 on Saturday morning participants in block A of the competition were emailed his/her prompts. They had 90 minutes to complete their submission. At 11:30 participants in block B were emailed his/her prompts.
On Friday April 16th the sectional results were announced. McLaren placed 4th in advertising, Abbott placed 5th in headline writing and Talha placed 1st in review writing.
Saturday April 24th, Talha advanced to compete at the state level but did not place.
