The IDPH announced that beginning Monday, January 25th, sports considered low risk will return to practice. Low risk sports at Glenbard South are bowling, badminton, competitive cheer, girl’s gymnastics, competitive  dance, and boys swimming. In order to participate in athletics, one must have an updated physical, be registered in PowerSchool for that particular sport and be signed up for the saliva surveillance program.

Since the IDPH has moved to mitigation tier two, contact days are now allowed. The scheduling is as follows:

Badminton 2:30PM-4:30PM in the Fieldhouse

Bowling 3PM at Bowlero in Glendale Heights.

Junior Varsity Cheerleading 2:30PM-4:30PM in the Commons

 Varsity Cheerleading  5:00PM-7:00PM in Commons

Dance 3:00PM-5:00PM in the Gym

Girls Gymnastics 4:30PM-6:30PM in the Gymnastics Balcony

Boys Swimming 8:00PM-10:00PM at BR Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn

All student athletes will enter Door 4 (Main Entrance) where the trainers will conduct the temperature and symptom checks. Any student that will be bringing a saliva sample will be able to deposit it at Door 4 as well when they arrive. They may leave practice using Doors 4, 11, or 12. Participants must come to campus for temperature and symptom checks prior to going to practice. Transportation to practice will be provided  for those who need it however, athletes must provide their own transportation home after practice.

There is no set schedule for competition yet, but there will be updates in the coming weeks.
