On December 7, GBS held a very special event; Breakfast with Santa. The event was run by the GBS Choir. The event cost $5 and included McDonald’s pancakes with Starbucks coffee, crafts, music and Santa Claus. There were many crafts to make including candy cane reindeer and Santa beards. Madrigals, one of the GBS acapella groups, sang a multitude of songs including Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Santa Claus sat in the “North Pole” with his elves, taking pictures and asking children what they wanted for Christmas. The event was headed by new choral director Elizabeth Hutchinson. “We had about 150 people attend. Next year, I’d like to look for more creative ways to advertise the event.” Overall, the event was a success with members of the community enjoying breakfast, crafting and visiting Santa.
