For instance, the series “Orange is the New Black” is based on main character Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling. The previous girlfriend, Alex Vause, is an international drug mule who is also sentenced to the same prison as her ex, Piper. Another thrilling series, “Breaking Bad”, consists of the story of a struggling high school chemistry teacher, Walter White. To add to the dysfunctional concoction, White is diagnosed with terminal cancer. In efforts to save his family from financial ruins, White uses his scientific abilities to convert an old RV into a meth lab.

An additional top runner on Netflix is the political drama, “House of Cards.” Kevin Spacey stars as Frank Underwood, a South Carolina Democrat and House Majority Whip. Underwood conjures up plans of revenge against those who betrayed him in efforts to get back at them after being passed over for appointment as Secretary of State. This opens up to a modern day scene In Washington, DC.

On a lighter note is the series based on the books written by Cecily von Ziegesar, “Gossip Girl.” This teen drama takes place in the Upper East side of Manhattan. The group of main characters like Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen and Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf, have their lives’ scandals, lies and deepest secrets exposed on the popular online blogger known as Gossip Girl.
