As the new year arrives, so will new trends in women’s fashion. This year will be full of eccentric patterns, mixed with popular styles of the past.

Not to mention, popsugar.com states “The 10 Runway Trends You’ll Be Wearing in 2015” included: “Cool-Girl Gingham,” which is a medium-weight cotton checked or plaid pattern that is commonly blue and white. This cloth will be a popular material for skirts, shirts, belts and almost anything that can be worn. Also, gingham is said to be a popular pattern for jackets and coats this next season It is also shown in various patterned sets (a top and bottom with the same pattern).

A second trend that will be sweeping 2015 is “The Subtle ‘70s.” Vibrant prints will be one of the most important key elements to achieving the perfect 70s look.  Fashionsing.com claims, “Even when defined by the warmest of earth tones, the 70s had plenty of vibrant prints in charge of keeping things looking effortlessly exciting. From small scale to blown-out proportions, the prints best describing the 1970s were audacious and kaleidoscopic.”

Furthermore twin-sets, sleeveless tops, anything high waisted, flare jeans, shirt-dresses, mixing patterns and pant jumpsuits in fun fabrics will be the best way to bring the 70s back to life. The popsugar article also mentioned colored suede, fringe, crochet, lace and macrame will be very popular.

Also, say goodbye to leopard print and say hello to… jellyfish? “Out of The Ordinary Animal Prints” is another popular trend.  According to popsugar chameleons, crabs, scorpions, seahorses, jellyfish and even some creepy crawlers have made their way onto some dresses and skirts. With an interesting combination of colors, this trend is going to be a big hit for women of all ages.

A fourth trend that will be taking over 2015 is “Sporty Minimalism.” Sporty Minimalism is defined by bella-rebel.com as “the ‘Sporty’ trend mixed with casual clothes.” Popsugar stated, “We’ve seen full-on sportswear from the likes of Alexander Wang for years, but this go-around, we’ve noticed a pared-down approach to athletic influences.”

Also, Popsugar claims that lace up sides and backs will be one of the most noted choices for clothing next year. There will also be an increase in wristbands, racing stripe patterns and drawstrings to keep everything “looking fresh.”

Moreover, this next trend will show off women’s finest asset, their shoulders or lack there of. “Power shoulders,” as they are called, are actually the total opposite of the power shoulders with insane shoulder pads were familiar with. There will be very many off-the-shoulder shirts and dresses as well as many jaw dropping one-shoulder necklines that will be flattering for all women.

The sixth trend of this season will be “apron skirting.” Popsugar stated, “From minis to pencils, when layered on top of oversize poplin shirts, accordion dresses and pants, it will create a whole new look that will surely reinvigorate wardrobes.”

Along with apron skirting, there will be lots of long wrap skirts, sheer skirts and kilt-like skirts taking over the fashion industry by storm.

In addition, a favorite trend is back on the runway, “Statement Stripes.” Stripes in general make a big statement, and they are usually debuted in different sizes and colors. This year, we will see lots of designers placing stripes at odd angles and placements with lots of different textiles.

Lastly, the final trend of this year will be “The New Neckline.” Thus, turtlenecks and conservative tops are in this season. Along with lots of dresses and tops with turtleneck necklines paraded down the runways of 2015 style, and it has shocked millions. Along with turtlenecks, lots of buttoned up and high-collared looks will make a splash in the fashion industry as well.

Every year’s trends are a surprise to all, but this year’s trends will be very shocking. Make sure to look out for these eye-popping prints and favorite trends of the past.
