In 2019, Natalie Mering, musically known as Weyes Blood, released her monumental album Titanic Rising. Fans were amazed by the otherworldly sounding instrumentals paired with Mering’s rich alto voice. Titanic Rising is the first album of a trilogy, and highlights the tragedies humans face, from unrealistic expectations in the media to climate change.

This Friday, November 18th, the second album of the trilogy,  And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow, will be released. An album about surviving existential doom, the first track, “It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody,” gives a taste of what is to come on the album. The track depicts the experiences ourselves and others face during times of “overwhelming change”, and how technology is increasingly replacing human contribution. The music video, released September 28th, portrays a haunting visual of Mering dancing through a theater scattered with people who had fallen victim to a cartoon smartphone. You can watch it at “It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody” Music Video. A second music video for track three, “Grapevine”, was released October 27th and gave fans more of what is to come on the album.
