French Club

Maggie Falkenberg, School News Writer

The rest of the world may be under travel restrictions due to Covid-19, but you don’t have to travel far to experience French culture. Glenbard South’s French Club welcomes French speakers and those who wish to learn more about the French way of life. The club’s first meeting of the 2021-2022 school year was held on Thursday, September 2nd. There, attendees discussed upcoming events throughout the school year as well as new ideas for the annual club T-shirt. Alongside M. Kallas, the club sponsor, this year’s presidents, seniors Julia Madary and Charlotte Ahlborn, reviewed ideas for activities. Some of these ideas include a French movie after school, baking French cuisine in the culinary rooms, and a French-themed pumpkin decorating contest. Later in the year, French club will put on a Valentine’s Day fundraiser and French school week. The club also voted on a theme for their T-shirts which will be available for purchase after the design is finalized.
The next meeting will be held on September 16th afterschool in room 106. If interested in joining French Club, please contact Mr. Kallas ([email protected]) or one of the presidents to join the Schoology group.
