Pentatonix, a five member (four guys and one girl) a cappella group that won a televised competition called “The Sing-Off” in 2011, released “La La Latch.” “La La Latch” is a cover and mash-up of singer Sam Smith’s songs “La La La” and “Latch.” At one point, this song was #86 on the iTunes Top 100 songs list. The song will be featured on Pentatonix’s upcoming third EP, “PTX, Vol. III.” The album will include more covers like “La La Latch,” including “Problem” by Ariana Grande, but it will also include some of the group’s own original songs. “PTX, Vol. III” comes out on September 23, 2014.

While Pentatonix’s melodies rely solely on their voices, fans of country music look forward to hearing to a variety of instruments traditional to country music on their favorite songs, and Lady Antebellum provides just that. Lady Antebellum, an American country trio made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelly and Dave Haywood, released its song “Bartender” back in late May, but the song is still new because the album it will be included on has not come out yet. “Bartender” once reached the #50 spot on the iTunes Top 100 songs list. Lady Antebellum’s sixth studio album, “747”, comes out on September 30, 2014.

This next music artist refers back to the earlier mention of something new to listen to. A couple named Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton make up the pop/indie pop duo, Alex & Sierra. Alex & Sierra won the third and final season of the “X-Factor” and have recently released their song “Bumper Cars.” This song is going to be one of the thirteen tracks on their debut album, “It’s About Us”. Fans who do not want to wait until the October 7 release date of the album will be pleased to know that the song is one of four that are already available for purchase on iTunes.

If one enjoys listening to modern worship music, this next duo could be a new interest for him or her. For King & Country is an Australian-American Christian rock band made up of two brothers named Joel and Luke Smallbone. They were both born in Sydney, Australia and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1991. The group has released its new song “Fix My Eyes.” This song is going to be featured on their second album, “Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong,” which came out on September 16, 2014.

The previous artist mentioned has only been popular for a few years, whereas this next artist has been popular for a long time. Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift recently released her new song “Shake It Off,” which reached spot #1 on the iTunes Top 100 songs list. “Shake It Off” will be on her upcoming fifth studio album, “1989.” Although Taylor Swift became famous for her country tunes, the new album is going to be Swift’s first official pop album. “1989” comes out on October 27, 2014.

Taylor Swift’s music always seems to rise to the top of the charts in America. Because of this, she is one of America’s pop sweethearts. Although The Script, an Irish pop rock band, is still up and coming in America, in Ireland, they rank almost as high as Taylor Swift. The Script, which is made up of three members, released its song “Hail Rain Or Sunshine,” which was able to reach #85 on the iTunes Top 100 songs list. “Hail Rain Or Sunshine” will be on their fourth studio album, “No Sound Without Silence”. “No Sound Without Silence” is filled with songs that the band recorded while they were road after playing at various arenas. The album comes out on September 30.
