A girls basketball season in review

The Lady Raiders’ (22-6) had hoped for a three-peat bid for state which came to an unfortunate close. After a neck and neck game that led to a first round loss to St. Francis (17-15), with the score 42-39, the season has come to the end. With the season at a close, the program has hope of returning to state in the future.

While the girls lost the state qualification game, the team also lost something more important. The  girls said goodbye to the seniors: Rocky LaPonte, Akayhla Dixon, Kori Wilson, India Lucas and Ava Selvaggi.

Luckily, the girls basketball program held onto juniors Iman Sellars, Alex Wilharm, Kelly Anderson and Lauren Cohen, as well as sophomore Gianna Coluzzi.

With the future leaders of the Girls Raider Varsity Basketball set up, the movement for the program will be as strong as ever.
