Impossible+foods

There are many different choices for plant based meat. One of the most exciting and interesting one has to be Impossible Foods. Which has used its technology to trick the brain into tasting meat flavors in a purely vegan patty. In addition, its time of entering the market is perfect due to the rise of veganism and vegetarianism.

This company discovered that the molecule, heme, is what makes the meat taste like meat. First, they ferment the root of soy plants. Afterwards they take the heme molecule and put it in a yeast that it grows and uses it to make the patty. This makes the patty have a meaty taste that other plant based patties do not have. Furthermore, they combine soy and potato protein to make its patties have the meat’s texture. It also uses coconut and sunflower oils so that it grills like meat. However, the cost of the patties are four times as expensive as their non vegan counterparts as present by news outlets like Business Insider and Washington Post. In addition, some people say that the texture of the meat is still not there yet.

As time goes on, more people have become aware of the downsides of a meat based diet including environmental problems and morality. Therefore, Impossible Foods and other companies have been making these patties in a time where there are many meat-eaters who want to try veganism or vegatarism, but they still crave the taste of meat. This is perfect since these types of products are geared towards this newer demographic where people can still enjoy the taste of meat.

In addition, new pandemics are making meat less available for some countries. For example, the African Swine Flu has hit China where pork consumption is incredibly high, however, due to this flu, all the pigs have died. Therefore, Impossible Foods has unveiled Impossible Pork, and has marketed its products in the Chinese market.

In summary, Impossible Foods is creating a market of plased based meat that tastes and cookies like actual meat. They are making their products in a time where more people are aware of the side effects of a meat based diet.
