On August 22 2018, the Glenbard Parent Series is hosting its’ 2018 community read author at Glenbard West. The Things They Carried author Tim O’Brien will be speaking from 7:00-8:30 pm. The Things They Carried tells of O’Brian’s experiences with the Vietnam War,  including aspects of memoir, novel, and short story. The book has been internationally awarded and is considered a staple book for high school students to read. Both parents and students are invited to this event, to enlightent themselves about the Vietnam War.
