Celebrating the teachers of Glenbard South

Michael Bertone, Writer

Teachers do a lot for their students, and at Glenbard South and across the country, there is a teacher appreciation week the first week of May.  Every teacher needs to feel appreciated, and Glenbard South has done a great job spreading those feelings.

At Glenbard South teachers and staff passed out little yellow cards for students to sign and put down a teacher’s name and write how one appreciates him.  Some teachers can connect with their students or even be a parent for them.  They help their students get work done and help them do what they need to do.  Some teachers even teach their students life lessons about real world situations.  Other teachers are almost like a parent to their students and can leave a huge impact on their lives.

So teacher appreciation week was an important time to let the teachers know that they make a positive impact on you, to know what they really mean to you and how much they actually have done for their students in a positive way.

“I don’t care what’s in the card. Just receiving one makes me feel great,” English teacher Mrs. Chaloka said.
