A club for meaningful conversation

Many students at Glenbard South think about questions that are far beyond what can be discussed in class. Therefore, they students to engage in meaningful questions about life and topics of interest to them. wish to be able to share their thoughts with others and discuss their opinions outside of class but in a safe environment. Philosophy Club is run by student Sean Gitchell and Mr. Blecher. It allows students to engage in meaningful questions about life and topics of interest to them.
Philosophy is said to be ideas that are central to human experience, determining what a person thinks and believes. This is exactly what Philosophy Club is about. Students come in and vote on topics of interest to them, and Mr. Blecher pulls articles and interesting videos relating to the most popular topic. It is a very social event where students socialize, talk about meaningful questions and enjoy some good food. There is no competition involved in being part of the club as it is just simply a gathering of different ideas. The club meets during December, January and February every other Wednesday in room 203. All students interested in talking about deep and meaningful ideas are encouraged to come and check it out.
The number one reason students should get involved is “To make friends, eat good food, and engage in meaningful conversation on the big questions of life.”
