On Wednesday, February 8th, around 390 lives were saved by the student and staff participation in South’s annual blood drive. Life Source, “a non-profit corporation distributing a half-million blood products annually to approximately 60 area hospitals,” sponsored this year’s blood drive. Glenbard South donated a significantly greater amount of blood than the previous years. Approximately 130 units of blood were collected yesterday, which according to Mrs. Maras, who played a leading role in organizing the drive, was, “nearly double last year’s numbers [around 65 units].”
