American football is one of the most watched sports in the world. Everyone picks a team and roots for them all the way to the playoffs, hoping for a championship. One of the best things about American football is the rivalries, namely the famed and heated tensions between Ohio State and the University of Michigan. Every year, these two teams go head-to-head battling it out for the title. The stands get packed and the intensity boils. Continuing their lead, Michigan has won for the third time in a row this year, 30-24. These teams have been battling since 1918. This game gathers interest from all around the world, making it one of the most popular aired games in history!
The game started out slow, with Michigan getting an early touchdown in the first half and Ohio St kicking up a field goal. The score remained low at 7-3 with Michigan in the lead for almost the entirety of the first quarter. Two minutes out of the second quarter, JJ Mcarthy, the Michigan quarterback, threw another dime to make it 14-3. Kyle McCord was not going to let that slide, so he threw it in deep for Ohio St’s first touchdown, changing the scoreboard to 14-10. The second quarter was quiet after that, and the boards remained the same into the second half. Each football game gets a halftime break so the players can rest up and the coaches can form their game plan. Right out of the gate, Michigan scored a 50-yard field goal!
Leaving no time to celebrate, Ohio St soon challenged Michigan by scoring a touchdown. Michigan football players, however, are notorious for being ruthless machines, always managing to score one last touchdown before the last quarter. At this point,the stands were getting tight and the players and coaches were getting anxious. The last and final quarter had begun. Michigan once again started strong with a field goal. Ohio St needed to score, and they did exactly that with eight minutes left: just enough for Michigan to squeeze in more points. With one minute left, they secure their win with a field goal!
