pieces from Glenbard South, along with artwork from seven other schools, were chosen to be honored at the conference and will be on display at the Gail Borden Library in Elgin until the end of March. Ranging from categories such as digital photography, to mixed media, to graphic design, our Glenbard South art peers demonstrated a variety of skills and talents.

Art student, Jessica Nakayama, experimented with drawing with fire at a workshop.

Furthermore, select art students were invited to attend the conference at the Gail Borden Library accompanying this exhibition. The library featured a variety of engaging and experimental workshops held by professionals, such as ‘drawing with smoke’, and ‘painting with objects’. Junior Maxine Domecká explained that “The conference was really cool to see how other artists speak through their art.” Concerning the workshops, Domecká added that “the workshops brought me out of my comfort level and let me explore new ideas.”

Additionally, eight out of the ten pieces entered from Glenbard South received top awards in their categories, ranging from honorable mentions to first place winners. This conference marks a great achievement for our school, as these students have worked hard all year, inspiring others with their creativity and artwork.
