Taylor Swift announces 2023 tour with two shows at Soldier Field
November 2, 2022
Swifties, mark your calendars and save your next paycheck: Taylor Swift announced a massive stadium tour to take place in 2023.
Labeled ‘The Eras Tour’, Swift’s 27 shows will feature Phoebe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams, Owenn, Beabadoobee, Muna, HAIM, Paramore and girl in red as opening acts.
This is Swift’s first major tour in nearly five years, and she described it as “a journey through all the musical eras of my career.”
October has been nothing short of a historic month for Swift, as she currently holds all top 10 spots in the Billboard Hot 100 with her newest album Midnights – the first artist ever to achieve this.
Announced a mere week after her release of Midnights, news of Swift’s tour dropped right as the first-period bell rang and the Swifties of Glenbard South erupted in ecstasy.
Felicity Abbott, a South senior whose favorite Swift album is Speak Now, said, “I’ve never seen Taylor before live, and I think it would be incredible as she’s such a great performer.”
Similarly, Emily Puchalski, a South junior and avid fan of Swift and one of her tour openers, Phoebe Bridgers, mentioned how excited she is that two of her favorite artists will be touring together. Puchalski is ecstatic to hear ‘Nothing New’, a collaboration on Swift’s recent Red (Taylor’s Version) being performed live for the first time
The U.S. portion of the tour will begin in March 2023 and continue through August, with international dates to be revealed later. Swift has set two dates to take place in Chicago at Soldier Field on June 2 and 3.
