BEU

Anna Novy, Nation Editor

Black Excellence United, BEU, is a club made to unite the young African American students of Glenbard South. Sponsored by Miss Teague, the president is senior Syrai McKenzie.

Joe Walker, senior, describes BEU as “A place where African Americans can come together to discuss issues about the community”.

BEU continuously visits places such as the Dusable Museum of American American History in downtown Chicago to educate its members more on their ancestors’ history. Black Excellence United also discusses issues African American youth face in and outside of schools in today’s society.

BEU meets every Wednesday in room 64 right after school until 3:30. For any questions or clarifications, email Syrai McKenzie at [email protected] or Miss Teague at [email protected]
