Inside the Spring Fling

Student council organized Glenbard South’s first Spring Fling on the 21st of March. Sophomore class secretary Beth Hosek stated, “Preparation for the Spring Fling began in January since we had so much work to do to get ready.”

This work included booking D.J.s, selling tickets, advertising the dance and decorating the gym itself.

Tickets were sold over a week before the dance and over 100 students attended. Hosek said, “The dance team helped student council members decorate the gym for the dance with streamers and tables in spring colors.”

Dance committee chairperson and dance team captain Megan Matker, took charge and really got things done. She reflected, “Decorations ended up looking great and ticket sales surpassed our goals.”

Hosek added, “More publicity for the dance would have been great though. We haven’t done this dance in a while and advertising for it wasn’t as great as we hoped. We do hope for more people next year though, now that they know about it!”
