Glenbard South High School hosted a food drive along with a football game Friday, September 2. Patrons and players were encouraged to drop of non-perishable goods in bins at the entrance of the football game.

South’s food drive was part of September’s Hunger Action Month started by Feeding America. Around the world people starve be are malnourished everyday. Feeding America has been working  to fight the hunger that has been affecting over 48 million Americans (feedingamerica.org). It has partnered with food banks and many food drives to make a difference.

Glenbard South got to be part of this by hosting its own drive. The Feeding America website stated, “Whether it’s by advocating and raising awareness, volunteering or donating, you can find the way that’s right for you to make a difference during Hunger Action Month. Together, we can solve hunger.”
Just as Feeding America has made a difference, so can you. While Glenbard South’s food drive was only one night, the Glen Ellyn food pantry will accept donations all year round. One can visit its website at glenellynfoodpantry.org.
